The State of Gujarat being financial Backbone of the country has shown growth in all sectors. People of Gujarat are known for their enterpreneureship and festivity mind sets. In India during 1929 CHITRA PUBLICITY CO. Pvt. Ltd. was started by late Shri KANTILAL MANILAL MEHTA at today's busy and thickly crowded area of Mahatma Gandhi Road, Ahmedabad at Gujarat State. In very early time from 1929 to 1935 activities of this small outdoor publicity shop was much restricted in making signboards, paintings on shops and film banners.
Around 1934 Lever brothers (Now Hindustan Levers) engaged Chitra Publicity Co. for their small size boards of sizes 12’x8' to manufacture, erect and maintain at various of their own premises all over India.

In 1935, First sign board (Now known as Hoarding) in its present form was erected at Naginchand hall, Chowk Bazar, Surat. This was the first of it's kind of hoarding owned, erected and maintained by an individual outdoor publicity company in India.

Since than in Span of 10 years Chitra Publicity Co. Pvt. Ltd. put up more than 500 nos. of hoarding (Sign Boards) through out India including one at Hawrah bridge Calcutta, Church gate Station at Mumbai, Old Delhi Railway lines at Delhi, Lahore, Karachi, Pune, M.G. Road - Ahmedabad, Vishwamitri river bridge at Baroda and at Dhebar Road at Rajkot.

The only outdoor advertising company known till than was Chitra Publicity Co. of Ahmedabad. During, this time outdoor publicity business, which many learned from Shri KANTILAL MANILAL MEHTA and having local base started their own, set ups and established in Outdoor Publicity business after the year 1944 - 1945.

Due to ill health of Shri Kantilal Manilal Mehta, 1955 onwards, Chitra restricted its activities in and around Gujarat State only. During this time Sharad Kantlial Mehta Eldest son of Shri Kantilal Manilal Mehta join the Company, Later in 1972 Bakulesh Kantilal Mehta joined the Company.

Sharad Mehta died in 1984 of Lever cancer. Hence in 1982 Atul Kantilal Mehta joined the Company. Shri Kantlial Manilal Mehta passed away in the year 1989. End of a great life with Entrepreneur Success.

Today CHITRA PUBLICITY CO. Pvt. Ltd.is still family owned and run outdoor advertising Company with more than 3000 nos of hoardings in all different shapes and sizes at 220 Towns and Centers of Gujarat State. Also at border towns, like Mount Abu, Selvasa, Daman, and Div. The size of Hoardings owned, erected and maintained by Chitra ranges from 12'x8’ to 80'x30'.

Chitra has well trained staff and business Supports many families through its business activities. Well-trained and matchless infrastructure through out the State of Gujarat is the strength of Chitra to cater versatile outdoor Publicity needs of potential clients.

CHITRA has full-fledged offices in all Four Major Cities of Gujarat. They have Administrative & Corporate office at Ahmedabad and Registered office in BARODA, Branch Offices at SURAT & RAJKOT. Chitra supports outdoor advertisement needs of more than 200 Clients from all over the Country. Chitra has about 8 to 10% of its urban outdoors illuminated. It has more than 25 teams of professional and skilled poster artists. It handles regular painting, flex and Vinyl, printing-cutting and postings. Displaying and Fixing, integrated hoarding publicity, Creative image displaying screen printing, tin plates and tin board manufacturing, moving publicity on wheels, wall paintings, P.O.P. organizing and many particular needs in Outdoor Advertising.
